Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo

There can be few doubts this season that the continent's, and indeed the world's, best two teams have reached the final to produce what looks on paper to be the most mouth-watering final in years.

And as a bonus, the two players widely regarded as the greatest talents currently on show in world football will stand opposite each other.

United's Cristiano Ronaldo is officially top dog, having won both the world player of the year crown and the Ballon d'Or in 2008, benefiting no doubt from his team's sensational run to Champions League, Premier League and Club World Cup glory.

He joined Inter Milan for €1.2m in 1999, but was unable to find the form he did in his previous club, but in the next season was able to score 12 times which tempted Parma to buy him where he scored 18 goals in 31 Serie A games which qualified them for the UEFA Cup.

He didn't get to join Parma in the UEFA Cup however, as he was quickly swooped by the lucrative offer Abrahimovic had for him at Chelsea in 2003/04.

Mutu scored five times in his first six outings but his form quickly dropped and new Chelsea Manager quickly dropped him in preference for another striker. Things never started looking up for Mutu, as he was caught for using banned substances, first thought to be cocaine, but now it's an unidentified substance. Consequently, Chelsea sacked him after two weeks this was discovered, and Mutu could have faced a two year ban, but was given a shocking seven month ban inste

NCAA Football 2011

Everyone is excited for the NCAA Football 2011 version that is about to be released to your favorite video game retail stores.

This game informer has the inside scoop on the release date for the NCAA Football 11 video game that’s coming out very soon.

Rumor has it that there will be many advance features and options not available in the previous NCAA Football games or even the Madden Football versions.

Either way, you have to admit that this is going to be one exciting football season! NCAA Football 2011 release date available for the Playstation 3, the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC Game consoles and more.

I love NCAA football – Way more than NFL because these guys are playing their asses off for their pride, the school and the chance at getting rich and playing like the rest of the lazy thugs in the NFL. Every year I look forward to the updated release of this title. Being the little brother to Madden, it’s no surprise that the game feels like it’s been neglected some in the last couple years.

The incredibly fun “Road to Glory” mode that, has you controlling a high school superstar to college star status, received no new features or attention. This is sad because this mode is incredibly satisfying and a lot of fun but it’s a little less so this time around because it’s got the “Been there done that” feel to it. Even the incredibly hot Erin Andrews videos are the same and she’s even wearing the same outfit – Come on EA, quit effin with us. That’s rather insulting.

The dynasty mode is still fun and even slightly more engaging to a small degree with the recruiting allowing you to woo your prospective players away from your competition by making phone calls and planning visits. Only problem seems to me after playing 3 championship seasons, I still don’t have a higher level of prestige as a coach nor am I able to access some of the other points to discuss with players. Not sure what a guy needs to do to make this work better but it’s starting to get a little irritating. What else does a guy need to do to get more 5 star players to come play for his school?

The gameplay itself is by and large untouched which isn’t a bad thing. There have been some minor adjustments to the running game but I didn’t find it to be that bad anyway.

he United Nations Development Programme today appointed soccer star from Côte d’Ivoire Didier Drogba as a Goodwill Ambassador for the fight against poverty at a ceremony in Geneva at the Palais des Nations. Drogba, currently the leading scorer in both the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, in his new role as an advocate for the poor will set his sights on a new set of goals, away from the soccer pitch: the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). These globally agreed targets seek to halve world poverty by 2015 by setting targets for rolling back hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination against women.
“I don’t forget my origins,” said Drogba. “I have been given opportunities to succeed in life, but I constantly think about the ones who did not have this chance. We all need to contribute to help defeat poverty.” Drogba will work with UNDP to spur action at all levels of society in pursuit of the Millennium Development Goals, with a particular focus on Africa.
“We’re very pleased to have Didier on our side, working to help countries reach the MDGs,” said UNDP Administrator Kemal Derviş. “Greater recognition of the wide range of serious challenges we face in Africa and around the world is an important part of meeting those challenges—and Didier will offer tremendous help in raising awareness.” The other UNDP Goodwill Ambassadors are soccer legends Ronaldo and Zinédine Zidane, South African Nobel Prize winner Nadine Gordimer, Japanese actress Misako Kono and Crown Prince Haakon Magnus of Norway.
Drogba has previously collaborated with several charities and organisations and has long been active in mobilizing support for the eradication of poverty. He has also participated in several HIV/AIDS campaigns, and will continue to focus on this issue--and its implications for human rights and women’s empowerment.
“Gender equality must be promoted, and women and girls are at a special risk. Male attitudes and behaviour need to change, and as a man and a role model for many young boys in Africa I will do my best to promote the right messages to other men and boys to stop the pandemic,” said Drogba. He will also support UNDP’s work in conflict prevention and recovery.
Didier Drogba received his credentials as Goodwill Ambassador by the Director of the UNDP Office in Geneva, Ms Odile Sorgho-Moulinier on behalf of the Administrator of UNDP.
Born in Abidjan in1978, Drogba spent his childhood in his native Côte d'Ivoire and his adopted country, France. He led Côte d'Ivoire to its first-ever World Cup final in 2006, and currently plays for Chelsea F.C. of the English Premier League.
